The Roaring 20's
My lovely sister has just left a message complaining that I don't blog much. Well, okay, I don't. I am guilty of neglecting my blog. BUT, I do have a very good reason. I am a very busy woman.
You see, in between working a 9 hour day and travelling to and from work for an extra 4 hours a day for 5 days a week, there's not much room left for "me" things. So that normally leaves weekends, in which I have to fit parties (very important), my photography work, my homework and that all important thing we all like to call sleep. I like sleeping, don't get me wrong, but I actually see it as a complete waste of time. For those 8 hours we're supposed to get, of which I only sleep about 4, I figure I could be doing something constructive or fun...like going to a 1920's theme party for my friend's 27th!!
I love that kinda thing so when I got the invite it was "cancel all plans and pen it in" because I wasnt going to miss getting to play dress ups! I took the day off on friday because I had to have my vaccinations for my looming trip (which hurt like a beacth and made me terribly ill all weekend!!) and spent the rest of the day running around trying find a dress that fit me and a suit for my friend. If you ever have to buy or rent a suit for a man and they are not there to try it on you're going to have one hell of a problem on your hands....MEASUREMENTS. Luckily the hire guy let me take the suit to my friend to see if it fit, which it did.
We met my friend Carmen at her house so we could do our hair and makeup. With a little wine and some good company we cooked up a nice little pre-party party which ended up making us about an hour late. Fashionably darling.
It was one of the best night's and it's always good to see my friends whom I'll miss tremendously when I leave for my trip in June. So at the moment we're all trying to see each other as much as possible. With the Chicago soundtrack blasting the neighbours awake all night and cap guns firing constantly we must have been really loud because someone ended up sending a taxi to the house...hint hint... but we just sent him away because he didn't like posing for a photo and none of us wanted a taxi.
